Governor Zulum Mourns Colonel Killed By Boko Haram Saying Bako Was A True Soldier
The governor
of Borno state, Babagana Umara Zulum, has said that the sacrifices of Colonel
Dahir.C. Bako, Commander of 25 Task Force Brigade of Operation Lafiya Dole, and
other heroes will not be in vain. Zulum noted this in a statement issued by his
spokesman, Isa Gusau, and shared on his Facebook page while mourning the death
of Bako on Monday, September 21. Recall that Colonel Bako died from injuries
sustained while fighting Boko Haram insurgents in an ambush around Damboa in
the southern part of Borno state on Sunday, September 20.

Lafiya Dole in Borno state. He prayed for the soul of the deceased to rest
peacefully with God.
The Borno
governor while eulogizing the deceased said that the late colonel was a true
soldier with exceptional courage that was clearly out of pure patriotism and
inspiring instinct.
Zulum also said that Bako inspired his troops
as he led them to front lines, adding that he fought very hard and very well.
He said: "Bako was a true soldier who inspired his troops and led them to
front lines with exceptional courage that was clearly out of pure patriotism.
He fought very hard and very well. “He

State to the extent he gave his life while defending the people of Borno.”
In a
statement on Tuesday, September 22, Ndume who is the chairman of the Senate
committee on the Nigerian Army, eulogised the late colonel for being a
patriotic Nigeria.
