Governor Zulum Mourns Colonel Killed By Boko Haram Saying Bako Was A True Soldier
The governor of Borno state, Babagana Umara Zulum, has said that the sacrifices of Colonel Dahir.C. Bako, Commander of 25 Task Force Brigade of Operation Lafiya Dole, and other heroes will not be in vain. Zulum noted this in a statement issued by his spokesman, Isa Gusau, and shared on his Facebook page while mourning the death of Bako on Monday, September 21. Recall that Colonel Bako died from injuries sustained while fighting Boko Haram insurgents in an ambush around Damboa in the southern part of Borno state on Sunday, September 20. Governor Zulum commiserated with the Nigerian Army and theatre command of operation Lafiya Dole in Borno state. He prayed for the soul of the deceased to rest peacefully with God. The Borno governor while eulogizing the deceased said that the late colonel was a true soldier with exceptional courage that was clearly out of pure patriotism and inspiring instinct.
