Presidency Reacts To Senate's Call For Sack of Service Chiefs
The presidency has finally reacted to the Nigerian Senate's call for the sack of the security chiefs due to the saddening rise in the killing and attacks across the county. You could recalls that th e upper legislative chamber, during a plenary on Tuesday, July 21, expressed its sadness over the spike in killing nationwide and asked the country’s service chiefs to step aside without any further delay. The resolution followed a motion by Senator Ali Ndume (APC, Borno), who expressed worry over the reported voluntary retirement of over 200 army officers. The red chamber also asked its joint committee on security to find out why the officers were deserting the service. The Senate also resolved that the top hierarchy of the military should brief its relevant committees on the factors militating against its operations to find a way forward.
