Police Arrest Imo Monarch, Pastor For Alleged Kidnap

The traditional ruler of Obor community in Awara, Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State, Eze Andrew Okuegbunuwa, and a cleric identified as Caleb Agu, has been arrested by Operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit and the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Imo State Police Command for alleged kidnapping. The Commissioner of Police in the state, Isaac Akinmoyede, while parading the traditional ruler and eight suspected members of his gang at the command headquarters in Owerri, alleged that they were responsible for the killing of two personnel of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency in the state a few months ago. Akinmoyede further stated that while the traditional ruler provides the gang’s operational vehicle, the cleric was the leader of the syndicate. The CP added that the cops recovered N4.2m as part of the ransom the suspects collected from one of their victims.
